Shepherd Sayings June 15, 2017
What does God expect from fathers? The Bible tells us what God expected of Abraham, the father of the Jews.
God said, “I have chosen Abraham to teach his family to obey me forever and to do what is right and fair.” (Genesis 18:19)
Fathers can do what God expects in the following way.
DEVOTE yourself to God! Open your life to His will for you.
GIVE yourself to your children! They want and need most to be close to you!
TELL and show your children you love them. When parents love children, and the child knows it, they can endure almost any mistake,
ENJOY your children! Someone said, “One way to be a bad parent is not to get any fun out of it.”
LIVE your faith before your children! The Bible says, “Be imitators of God …and live a life of love just as Christ loved us.” (Ephesians 5:1-2)
