This writer trusts that all Moms had a very happy Mother’s Day on this past Sunday. Once again, hats off to all Moms!
A very big congratulations is due the Groesbeck Goat baseball team. The Goats continue to advance in the playoffs.
The Goats will play Maypearl in the next round in a best of three series. All games will be played at Whitney. The first game will be on Thursday beginning at 6 p.m. The second game will be on Friday at 7:30 p.m. If a third game is necessary, it will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday. See additional information on the Goat baseball team in the sports section.
Again, a big salute to the Goat baseball team and their coaches!
As a result of the baseball playoffs, Class Night at GHS has been changed from Thursday night, May 18, to Tuesday night, May 23, in the GHS auditorium. The time will be 6:30 p.m.
Late May or early June is the time when communities and cemetery associations have their annual Memorial Day activities.
The annual Big Hill memorial will be held at the Big Hill Church and Cemetery on Sunday, June 4. The business meeting will be held at 10:30 a.m. and will be followed by a worship service. A “pot luck” lunch will follow the worship service. All former Big Hill residents and members of their families and friends are cordially invited to attend this annual event.
As will be noted elsewhere in this issue of the Journal, the Groesbeck Lions Club invites everyone to the 19th annual Groesbeck Lions Club Car Show2 at the Groesbeck City Park on this Saturday, May 20, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is always an interesting event and a lot of fun for all.
May one and all have a great week and weekend!
