Here’s wishing one and all a very Happy Thanksgiving Day!
While we all enjoy visiting with family and friends, and, perhaps, enjoy football games and a delicious meal of turkey and dressing and other great food, let’s all remember the true spirit of Thanksgiving. Each of us in this great country have so many things for which to be thankful.
So, this Thursday, in the midst of all the excitement of the day, may each of us pause and thank God for our many personal blessings and the blessing of living in the our great country, the United States of America!
The Groesbeck First United Methodist Church will again sponsor “Return to Bethlehem”. The dates are Sunday night, December 3, and Wednesday night, December 6. “Return to Bethlehem” is held on the corner of West Navasota Street and Dr. J. B. Riggs Drive and just behind the Methodist Church building.
The Food for Families Drive in Groesbeck last Friday went very well. Please see a report of the drive elsewhere in this week’s Journal.
A very large crowd was present at Groesbeck Stadium last Thursday night, Nov. 16, for the bi-district game between Groesbeck and Franklin. While the Goats came out on the short end of the score, the locals gave a very exciting performance. Hats off to the Goats on a very exciting and successful season!
The annual Christmas at the Fort festival will be December 7 through December 10, at old Fort Parker. Please watch for additional details.
Again, Happy Thanksgiving to one and all; if you are traveling over the holiday weekend, please drive carefully!
