Thornton Ex-Students Hold Meeting During Homecoming

The Thornton Ex-Students held a meeting after the pie auction was held during homecoming. Seems we dwindle in numbers each year but managed to have the homecoming Queen and King, Elizabeth Reynolds Neason and Bill Neason present for the meeting. They spoke words of thanks for the honor of representing the association this year. They went through the 11th grade in Thornton and the school was then transferred to Groesbeck. They both have lived in Thornton their entire lives.

Robin York and Anita Childress of Ashburn Hanna American Legion Post 288 present a Certificate of Appreciation to WiniFred Giddens on Sunday, June 12. The certificate honored her service in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII, and was presented to her during her 100 birthday celebration. Winifred is a resident of Mexia Skilled Care.
