Understanding Our Differences

Our country was born through revolution and all political ties were cut with Great Britain on July 4th, 1776. The general cause of this revolution were the taxes collected by the British from the Colonies for use in Britain without representation or participation from the colonies. When America finally gained its independence there were no official Political parties Until 1792. Then came the Federalist party and the democratic-Republican Party.

Lakeside Readers have Christmas Cookie Exchange

The Lakeside Readers book club had their annual Christmas Cookie Exchange on Thursday night December 9th. This year we decided to treat the First Responders, Hospital workers, Teachers, Police and Fire departments and Texas DPS with tins of cookies. We are grateful for all of these who give so much. Deck the Streets in Thornton

The Thornton Chamber of Commerce has been hard at work resurrecting, refurbishing, and hanging Christmas decorations in downtown Thornton and plans to use these vintage decorations as patterns and replicate them before the 2022 Christmas Season are already in the works!
