From the Groesbeck 4th of July Parade announcer’s stand at 10:20 am on July 4th, Michelle Latray read the Declaration of Independence on behalf of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the CenTex Defense Bar. This is part of an annual event hosted by TCDLA in which Defense lawyers all over the state stand and read this honored document.
Groesbeck Chamber hosted a Children’s Patriotic Bicycle Contest on July 4 after the downtown parade. The top three winners were treated to a bag full of donated certificates from Los Pepe’s, Sonic, Crabby Cones, plus bracelets from Farmers State Bank and a Fireworks bundle from Jay’s Fireworks. Thank you to the donors for support of this year’s contest.
Texas is known for hot summers that leave many residents ready for air conditioning and a cool drink. Because animal’ bodies expel heat less efficiently and generate more pound-for-pound than humans, pets can be more impacted by raising temperatures.
Kosse will be celebrating Independence Day on Monday, July 4. Bring the family out to the Kosse City Park at 6 p.m. Monday for waterslides, burgers, snacks, and water. The big Kosse Fireworks Show managed by the Kosse Volunteer Fire Dept will start at dark.
