Study Club holds end of year social

The Groesbeck Study Club had its end of the year social on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at 6 p.m. at the Springfield Hall just north of Groesbeck. We celebrated our 75th Anniversary of the club. Janice welcomed everyone and turned it over to Lea who presented a wonderful program on the history of our 75 years. Kalyn Bush Cox sang several songs from around 1946 when the club was started. She did a wonderful job on Boogy Woogy Bugle Boy of Company B and all the other songs she sang. Many thanks to her for sharing her great talent with us. Lea had also put together a wonderful game of trivia focusing around the history of our club. It was an amazing and informative and fun time.

Rev. Nathan Bedford was presented with the Community Builder Award at Groesbeck Masonic Lodge #354, on Saturday, May 15th, 2021, for his countless hours of selfless service to God, our churches, his family, and everyone in Limestone County. He received numerous accolades and well-wishes for his work in the Church and Community, and though he sincerely says he does not do these works for awards, we honor him for his selfless service to our community. He is truly a man that continues to give of himself without reservation.

Heritage House to Become Historic Bed and Bath

The Kosse Heritage Society has been busy for the past month, holding fundraising events and working to continue restoration efforts at the Heritage House as the annual Kosse Homecoming Celebration approaches, June 11-12. While the Heritage House will be available for tours during Homecoming as it has been in previous years, the Heritage Society is also putting in extra hours to make it a working bed and bath available for weekend or overnight rentals.
