Commencement exercises for 2017 Groesbeck High School Senior held
The Commencement Exercises for the 2017 Groesbeck High School Senior Class were held on Friday night, May 26, at 8 p.m. in Groesbeck Stadium. Ninety-eight GHS received their high school diplomas.
The class entered the stadium to “Pomp and Circumstance” march.
Avery Kelly, reporter for the Class of 2017, gave the invocation. Senior Class Vice-president Summer Black led the audience in the pledge to the flag of the United State of America. Under the direction of Adalia Brixan, class treasurer, the audience joined in the singing of the National Anthem.
Madison Wilson, senior class president, welcomed the audience to the graduation exercises.
Keri Bailey-Allen, GHS principal, gave various introductions. Keri Thoele, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, recognized the Texas Scholars in the class. Ms. Thoele also recognized the members of the Class of 2017 who also received Association Degrees from Navarro College last week.
Lora Edgemon, assistant GHS principal, gave recognition to the honor graduates of the Class of 2017.
The Valedictory and Salutatory Addresses were delivered by Jocelyn Martinez, valedictorian, and Adaia Brixen, salutatorian.
