Cynthia Ann Garden Club has reassembly meeting
The Cynthia Ann Garden Club had its reassembly dinner on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the Groesbeck Woman’s Club at noon. Carolyn Hughes, President, welcomed everyone and introduced T K Pressley, Economic Development Director for the City of Groesbeck. She spoke to us about the upcoming improvements slated for Groesbeck as well as the pocket park that will be where the Unclaimed Freight used to stand. Much thought and preparation has and will go into the design and construction of the park and they plan on using as many local artisans as possible in the design and construction phase. The plan is to start very soon and hopefully have it completed either later this year or the beginning of next year. The park will feature covered places to eat, plantings in flower boxes, a tree, a pergola, a green area, and extra seating for parades and the like. We extend many thanks T K for taking time out of her busy schedule to come give us such an informative and knowledgeable talk.
The room was beautifully decorated by the social committee, Paige Longoria, JoEleene McLelland, Mary Renfroe, Betty Porter, Bobbie Muhlinghause, and Betty Blackstock, which was the hostesses for the event in their chosen pure country style. There were red and white gingham tablecloths with a bouquet of bright, yellow sunflowers in crockery vases in the center of each of the little tables where we were to sit.
