Matthew Wright will be the speaker for the Groesbeck Chamber of Commerce banquet
Matthew Wright, a noted after dinner speaker and Baylor business professor, will be the speaker for the Groesbeck Chamber of Commerce banquet on Thursday night, January 18, at the Groesbeck Convention Center.
In addition to Mr. Wright’s presentation, various awards will be presented at the banquet. The banquet will also feature a silent auction and stretch ticket drawing. The doors to the convention center will open at 6 p.m. with the banquet meal being served at 6:30 p.m. Tickets to the banquet are $20.00 each. The tickets may be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce office in the Convention Center, the Groesbeck Journal, and at the door.
The speaker, Mr. Wright, is described as a very entertaining and humorous speaker.
Mr. Wright is currently a member of the Diaz & Wright firm and works in the areas of federal and state litigation. In addition, Wright is the presiding judge for the Rosebud Court of Record and the presiding judge of the City of Lott Municipal Court.
Wright teaches Negotiations and Conflict Resolution at the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University and is a coach for the Texas A&M School of Law moot court program.
Wright was recognized as the 2011 American Bar Association’s Outstanding Young Non-Profit Lawyer of the Year. He was inducted into the National Order of Barristers, a legal honor society. He is a licensed as an attorney-at-law counselor in the Texas Supreme Court, Missouri Supreme Court, and the Missouri Eastern Federal District. Wright was recently nominated sworn into the Bar of the United States Supreme Court. He studied conflict resolution and negotiations at Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Israel with Hamline University School of Law. He has attended Harvard University John F. Kennedy School Government’s Program on leadership for senior executives.
