Results of Limestone County city and school elections are reported
Last Saturday was a busy election day in Limestone County with six cities and two school districts having contested elections. The results are given below, and all of the election results reported are unofficial returns as the results have not yet been certified by the respective city councils and school boards.
Bill David Sadler, incumbent, and Ronnie Ferguson were elected to the Groesbeck ISD school board for the two at-large seats on the Board. Sadler received 640 votes and Ferguson, 564. Gabriel “Gabe” Gibson received 459 votes and Kimberly Goswick Meyer had 405 votes. Incumbent Chris Rand did not seek reelection.
The $5,000.000 bond issue was defeated with 664 votes against and 623 votes for.
City of Groesbeck
Incumbents Kim Harris and Warren Anglin were elected to the Groesbeck City Council. Anglin led the voting with 402 vote while Harris had 284. The third candidate, Jim Cox, received 121 votes.
City of Thornton
The city of Thornton elected three members of its City Council. Elected to the Council were Carla Robison, Tracy Cordova, and Jud Hughes. Robison led with 50 votes; Hughes had 47 votes; and Cordova, 35 votes. The other candidates were Randy Franklin, 33 votes, and Beverly Ellis with 13 votes.
