The 2021 school year for the Groesbeck Independent School District appears to be well under way. As will be noted elsewhere in this week’s week’s Journal the first varsity football game for the Groesbeck Goats will be this Friday night here at home against Mildred with the game time being at 7:30 p.m. Groesbeck Homecoming will be September 17-18. Last week we looked at the need for a prayer life. My question for today is, “Do you truly believe God answers prayer?” There is no doubt many answers to the question. Some would answer with a loud, “Yes”. Others with a quiet, “I think so.” Still another might say, “I wonder.” Finally, some will answer, “No” with the silent practice of their lives since they never pray. What is your answer?

The State of Texas will honor Quanah Parker on Sat., Sept. 11 at Old Fort Parker, where his odyssey began. The Old Fort will be a focal point with other sites around the state that celebrate the last Chief of the Comanche and his contributions to Texas, the nation, his family and all Comanche.
