The State of Texas will honor Quanah Parker on Sat., Sept. 11 at Old Fort Parker, where his odyssey began. The Old Fort will be a focal point with other sites around the state that celebrate the last Chief of the Comanche and his contributions to Texas, the nation, his family and all Comanche.
The Buffalo Stampede Festival will be held in conjunction with the Pickett PRCA Rodeo on Sept. 17-19 at the Leon County Expo Center south of Buffalo on U.S. Hwy 75. The PRCA Rodeo performances will be Friday and Saturday night, with $12 admission in advance or $10 from a Leon County 4-H or FFA member.
