The following indictments were handed down by the Limestone County Grand Jury on August 18. Those listed are not guilty unless and until a court finds otherwise. An indictment simply means there is enough evidence to warrant a trial.
State Board of Education Member Tom Maynard is scheduled to speak Tuesday, Sept. 14, at the Limestone County Republican Women’s Club. The meeting is slated to begin at 7 p.m. at the Mary Helen Nance Community Center in Thornton.
Noted historian Lance Tahmahkera, a great-great-grandson of Quanah Parker, the Last Chief of the Comanche, will be a featured speaker at Old Fort Parker Day on Saturday, Sept. 11.
After several budget discussions and workshops held by Limestone County commissioners in recent months, the court approved the budget for fiscal year 2021-2022 in a brief meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 7.
