The Groesbeck Study Club had its re-assembly meeting on Tuesday, September 21 at the Groesbeck Woman’s Club at 6 p.m. President Janice Levi welcomed us all to our new club year. We started with the Pledge of Allegiance and June Wietzikoski gave our invocation. Janice Levi made us a good and sturdy wooden base for our flags for the Woman’s Club. Many thanks to her for this.
Several dozen animal-loving citizens came together at the Groesbeck Convention Center on Saturday, Sept. 25 to enjoy dinner and support fundraising efforts by Limestone Animal Rescue And Shelter - LARAS House. Though the Spay-ghetti Dinner was not as heavily attended as organizers had hoped, the event brought in a few thousand dollars and served as a good foray into fundraising for a relatively new board.
The number of COVID fatalities in Limestone County jumped from 99 to 101 on Sept. 10, and reached 102 as of Sept. 26.
The Groesbeck City Council easily adopted the city budget and tax rate for the fiscal year 2021-2022 in a regular meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 21, with no increase in tax rate and no change to the originally proposed budget.
The Groesbeck Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a citywide garage sale this Saturday, Oct. 2. Garage Sales will be in both the downtown area and also in the various residential areas.
