Sales tax receipts for the Bi-stone area were mostly in the black for September; those figures are based on sales in July reported in August. The exception in Limestone County was Coolidge, which was down significantly for the month but still well ahead for the year. Groesbeck was down slightly for the month, but was also well ahead for the year.
The Groesbeck ISD School Board met for their regular meeting on Monday, Sept 20, and recognized the hard-working custodial staff for their success in keeping every campus clean and safe for students and staff. With years of service to the district ranging from one to more than 30, many custodians have become fixtures in Groesbeck schools, and Maintenance Director Jackie Ancelet was proud to shine a spotlight on this portion of her crew.

Kaitley Edwards was crowned the Groesbeck 2021 Homecoming Queen on Friday night, Sept. 17. Kaitley is the daughter of Kenneth and Alisha Shields. She is the class reporter for the senior class and a varsity cheerleader. She has been a part of the student council since junior high. She has volunteered her time in the concession stands, at Food for Families, and the recycling center. She plans to attend Blinn College after graduation, for veterinarian tech.
