This last Saturday, September 11, 25 local Patriots manned the four corners of Highway 14 & 164 intersections in Groesbeck waving American Flags and holding signs asking to ‘Honk if you love America’, ‘Our military & Veterans’ and ‘Never Forget 9/11’ These three signs got the greatest response. All but constant honking at the busy intersection inspired the Patriots to stay from 8 am till noon.
The Groesbeck Goat Football Team of 1991 won the State Class 3-A state football championship in late December 1991 in the Astrodome in Houston. The team will be honored this weekend during homecoming. The team will be recognized in the pre-game ceremonies, in the parade, and at the homecoming luncheon on Saturday.
