Election Day was Saturday, May 2. Numbers at the polls were low again this year. Only 1,143 voters went to the polls to cast their votes in Limestone for this election. The Groesbeck Volunteer Fire Department held a “Fill the Helmet” fundraiser on Saturday, May 2. Approximately $3,400 was raised to purchase Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the firefighters.
Commissioners Approve Plats, Road and Bridge Purchases
Close to 100 people showed up for Old Fort Parker’s free annual family movie night on Friday, April 17, where they got comfortable on blankets and lawn chairs for a showing of The Sandlot, presented by Limestone County Farm Bureau. Gates opened for the free movie night at 7 p.m., and area residents arrived to set up prime viewing spots all the way leading up to the start of the movie just after 8 p.m., once the sun had set.
