Fish Fry, Faith, and Fellowship Highlight Annual Men’s Event at FBC Groesbeck
Around 200 men from across Limestone County gathered Tuesday evening, Sept. 9, for the 4th annual Great Outdoors Men’s Event at First Baptist Church Groesbeck, sharing a fishfry dinner, outdoor-themed booths and a charged keynote from nationally known XM satellite radio host “Big Billy” Kinder. The event— aimed at men from seventh grade through adulthood— featured hunting and fishing displays, thousands of dollars in giveaway drawings and fellowship centered on faith and family.

This Friday night marks the halfway point for the Texas High School football season, and man is it moving faster than a KaVontae Turpin kickoff return for a touchdown! The non-district portion of everyone’s schedule is almost over, while one district dives right into it this weekend. No district race has even come close to being determined. Heck, we still have a ways to go. As most every coach will tell you, it’s the district games that matter the most and begin the march towards that state championship trophy.
