Laken Lou Bradley

June 19, 2017 -June 20, 2017

Laken Lou Bradley was born on Monday, June 19, 2017 at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple to Mark and Paige Bradley.  Laken lived for thirty-one precious hours and passed away peacefully in her parent’s arms on Tuesday, June 20, 2017.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 from 6-8PM at the Groesbeck Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 10 AM in the Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tracy Sims and Rev. Troy Brooks officiating.  A private family burial will follow at Faulkenberry Cemetery.

Laken Lou battled through multiple diagnoses from the beginning.  Chances of survival were low, yet at every doctor visit her heartbeat was strong and she thrived.  Mark and Paige decided that where there is a heartbeat there is hope, so began the young family’s journey.

Mom and Laken rested at home for six weeks before being admitted to Labor and Delivery at Baylor Scott and White in Temple, Texas.  Mom and Dad listened to the most precious heartbeat and hiccups every morning for eight weeks.  Every passing week, Laken Lou became an inspiration to many and made her parents deeply proud.  A delivery date was decided, yet true to character, this tiny girl decided to enter the world suddenly on June 19th at 10:08AM.  She was described as feisty and sassy by NICU nurses and did not appreciate diaper changes.  She had blonde hair, her momma’s features, Gigi’s feet, and was stubborn like her daddy.  She had a short, hard fought battle in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.  Laken Lou gained her angel wings while in her parents arms and joined her Father in Heaven.  Mark, Paige and Laken were surrounded by many loving relatives and staff.  Laken Lou was God’s miracle.  She brought so much joy and excitement to her parents and family in such a short time.

She is preceded in death by her maternal great-grandparents, Henry and Nelda Padgett, paternal great-grandparents A.B. and Udean McBay and B.L. and Gussie Lou Bradley.

Laken is survived by her Mom and Dad, Mark and Paige Bradley of Groesbeck; maternal grandparents, James Henry and Angela Padgett of Centerville; paternal grandparents, James L. Bradley, Sr. and Diana Bradley of Groesbeck; maternal great-grandparents Cooper and Linda Sullivan of Centerville; maternal great-great grandmother Dorothy Luedke of Centerville; maternal aunts, Preslie Padgett of Huntsville, Callie Padgett of Huntsville; paternal uncles and aunts, Stephen and Casey Bradley of Groesbeck, Christopher and Nancy Bradley of Groesbeck, James L., Jr. and Rachel Bradley of Groesbeck, Bryan and Liz Bradley of Wortham and a host of great aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, an account is set up at Farmers State Bank for donations to be accepted to give to a charity of the parents’ choice.

Mark and Paige would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Christopher Birkholz, the Maternal Fetal Specialists, nurses and staff of the Antepartum floor and NICU at Baylor Scott and White in Temple, Texas.  Thank you to all who visited, sent cards and gifts, and for all the thoughts and prayers.   We wish to thank our parents and family for their support and help.
