Wayne Lee Muhlinghause passed away in El Paso, Texas on September 4, 2017. A Memorial service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery on FM 147 in Marlin, Texas on Saturday, December 9th at 1:30 pm. Reverend Steve Nance of First United Methodist Church of Groesbeck will officiate. Another Memorial will be held at Lake Bridgeport at a later date.
Wayne was born in Sweetwater, Texas August 21, 1955 to Clint E. and Bobbie Jean Erskine Muhlinghause. His early years were spent there and in Corpus Christi and Escobas, Texas. At the age of four, his family moved to Bridgeport, Texas. He graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1973, and attended Cooke County Junior College.
Wayne worked in oil field construction and was a truck driver. His favorite hobbies were fishing and hunting. He worked for ME Reed Construction Company in Bridgeport for many years. They had recently transferred him to Carlsbad, New Mexico, where he was living at the time of his death.
Wayne was preceded in death by his Father, Grandparents C.E and Odell Stegall Muhlinghause and Robert and Tennie Hammond Erskine, an Uncle, Lee R. Muhlinghause, and an Aunt, Tennie Lou Erskine Henley Webster.
He is survived by his Mother of Thornton, his sister, Melanie Lockwood and husband Tom of Groesbeck, Nephews Jason Lockwood of Groesbeck, Barrett Lockwood and wife Brandi of Weatherford, Trent Lockwood and wife Lerin of Burnet, great nieces Kinley, Bowie, and Harper Lockwood, and eight first cousins.
