Goats do battle at Hillsboro Classic
The Groesbeck Goats basketball team traveled to Hillsboro to play in the Hillsboro Classic Tournament over the weekend, winning two of five games to put their season record at 5-6 overall.
The Goats fell to Centennial High School out of Burleson, Joshua, then Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy before picking up a 49-32 win over Marlin.
Nick Mosley led the Goats with 15 points in the win, followed by Jake Pringle’s 10, Tyrique Carter scored seven, Ameer Lee dished in six, Randy Canady dropped in four points, Ty Hale hit three, Chris Ramirez added two points and Brandyn Canady scored a free throw.
Mosley finished with 10 rebounds and a steal on defense, Randy Canady grabbed six boards and a steal, while Brandyn Canady recorded four assists, three rebounds and a steal. Carter made three assists and Lee led the team in steals with four.
