Johnson performs well in first Class 3A State XC Meet
Groesbeck cross-country runner Willow Johnson competed in her first state meet in Round Rock last weekend, finishing with a time of 13:26.94, placing 103 out of the field of 148.
Johnson had a great season for the Lady Goats, helping the team to a third-place finish at the Moody CC meet in late August. At the Temple meet, she earned a medal with her seventh place finish out of 83 competitors and finished in the Top 15 out of 129 runners at the Midway Kiwanis Meet in mid Sept.
Johnson finished in the Top 10 at the Gatesville Meet, helping the Lady Goats to a fifth-place finish out of 12 teams competing, and placed fourth at the McGregor Invitational Meet as the varsity girls brought home the first-place trophy.
