Lady Goats end volleyball season in Rogers
Under new coach Renee Martinez, the Groesbeck Lady Goats got to Rogers High Monday, October 30 for a bi-district match with the Rogers Lady Eagles. It was the final match for Groesbeck as Rogers before a packed gym of hometown supporters took a 25-7, 25-10 and 25-14 win to advance to the Area round this weekend. Groesbeck closed the year with a 16-12 mark. Rogers moves on with a 27-1 season mark, with their only loss early in the season to 6A Killeen Ellison.
Playing for Groesbeck was Amaria Beachum, Emily Miera, Bianca Carrillo, Abby Johnson, Olivia Contreras, Paige Spivey, Haylie Mitchell, Emily Garza, Kennedy Cox, Breann Bradley, Maggie Devrow and Mackenzie Gibson. Carrillo, Spivey and Garza are seniors. Everyone else could be back to be the nucleus of Martinez’s second Lady Goat squad for 2018.
