Mexia is off as well. The Blackcats improved to 2-3 through their non-district schedule, finishing out with a 35-12 defeat of the Caldwell Hornets in Week 5. The Wortham Bulldogs (4-1) will have a bye this week. Wortham suffered their first loss of the season against the Granger Lions, 41-34.

After the team went into the halftime down 19-0, Hale told his guys that they were going to go back on the field and win the game. Sure enough, Groesbeck scored 20 unanswered points and held the Bulldogs scoreless in the second half for the win. The Goats ended up with 348 total yards of offense against Eustace, led by Tyrique Carter and Ameer Lee.
