SP Coolidge coach
Nathan Hayes experienced success as the football coach at Crowell High School, leading the Wildcats to two Class A, Division I state championships and a state runner-up finish during his six years there.
Now, Hayes will try to duplicate that success at Coolidge High School.
He takes over at Coolidge for Wayne Ware, who accepted a job as the football coach at Kress High School in West Texas.
Hayes recently moved to Coolidge with his family and is still getting acquainted with his players. What he’s seen in the early going gives him reason for optimism.
“I’ve met a few of the players, but not a lot of them,” Hayes said. “I know these kids have got some talent. I went and watched them in summer basketball (Thursday) night. There’s good talent there. They’re good kids.”
