Thornton Senior News
The Thornton Senior Citizens group met on Thursday with a group of thirteen there. Attendance was off by a few. Elizabeth Neason off on a cruise, Ernestine Audd attending business, Jane Carpenter to Waco to Dr. for injection in back and required a driver so sweet Sue Wood was her much appreciated driver, Linda Watson still in hospital in Groesbeck but she's improving. I did not hear about others, but hope everyone will be back next week. Those present were Raye Spivey, Sandra Spivey, Pat Jones, Linda Taylor, Ann Carr, LMC volunteer, Wayne Sharp, Glenda Gambini, Fonetta Simmons, Wilma Lee, Alma McCurry, Helen Harvey, Bobbie Reynolds and Janice Bilbrey. Alma McCurry delighted the group with a dish of fresh squash and was really enjoyed by all is the report I got. Thanks Alma.
Gabby Washington, Texas A&M Agri. Life Ext. was supposed to be here but for some unknown reason did not make it. This week we are to have Tammy Ramsey for Texas Home Health (Hospice) is to be here and speak to us.
Menu for the week is: Ham & Beans, spinach, cornbread, Jell-o, milk, tea. I see on the menu for Friday in Groesbeck is chicken/dressing/with gravy/cranberry sauce, garlic mashed potatoes, green beans, bread, rolls and sweet potato pie. So maybe we need to call in our order to be added and go have Christmas lunch with them in Groesbeck.
Seems two ladies were lucky twice at bingo, being Glenda Gambini and Wilma Lee, Wayne Sharp won a game and Bobbie Reynolds won the blackout. Congrats to all.
See you Thursday.
