Thornton Senior News
Talk about a "lively" bunch of Senior Citizens but that was what it was Thursday. Those present were Raye Spivey, Sandra Spivey, LMC volunteers-Ann Carr, Sue Wood, Elizabeth Neason and also Donna Lloyd & Virginia Delcorn, (visiting us), Linda Taylor, Fonetta Simmons, Wayne Sharp, Bobbie Reynolds, Wilma Lee, Neenah German, Helen Harvey, Alma McCurry, Glenda Gambini, Alta Hyden, Janice Bilbrey and myself.
We missed those not present and hope they will be back this week. Come on join us for lunch. Lunch will be Chicken Broccoli and Alfredo sauce, tossed salad/with dressing, Garlic Bread, Vanilla Pudding.
The Community Center Building is nearing completion and the outside front is beautiful but I've not been inside for quite some time. This is surely to be an asset for our community, one that we can be proud of for years to come. So that being said, let's join together to take care of it.
Funny time: This man had his garage door repaired and repairman told him that the motor wasn't large enough on the opener. The man thought a minute and said that the one he had was the largest one made at that time, a 1/2 horsepower. Repairman shook his head and said well you need a 1/4 horsepower. The man shook his head and said "that 1/2 was larger than 1/4 and repairman said, "NOOO, it's not, four is larger than two". The homeowner has not used the repairman since.
Math isn't being taught as it used to be seems like or maybe some people just don't get it.
Hope to see you Thursday...
