One of Groesbeck’s oldest organizations, The Masonic Lodge #354 AF and AM, celebrated 150 years of existence with a BBQ event at the Convention Center on Saturday, June 4. Though the BBQ was open to all and free to attend, it was a dressy affair complete with a ceremony to reminisce on the organization’s history and recognize a few Masons for outstanding individual achievements.
Robin York, Ashburn Hanna American Legion Post 288 second vice commander, worked as a logistics specialist, in water purification, dispatch and was a switchboard operator in the Army for 21 years. She has been in Groesbeck for five years.
Since I wasn’t at the Center on Thursday, I don’t have a lot to report except those present. Janice Bilbrey, our site manager who does a fantastic job, Ann Brown who is there helping her get set up each week, Roger and Sharon Watson, Snuffy Bennett, Jo Ann Archer, Sue and Woody Wood, Elizabeth Neason, Gayla Lind, Sammy Cooper Earl Mask, Alma McCurry, Wayne Sharp, Vicky Vaughn, and Neennah German, were having a good time. Never think that the things you do each week to make this possible goes unnoticed, because it doesn’t and we seniors appreciate each kindness shown.
