The Thornton City Council held its first meeting since April on Monday, July 14. Council members Carla Robison and Pam Capps were not in attendance; however, there were enough members present for a quorum, so they proceeded to old business.
Search teams have recovered 103 bodies in Kerr County after the devastating July 4 floods along the Guadalupe River, with Gov. Greg Abbott saying at least 161 people were still unaccounted for.
It was a record breaking year as 370 kids fished at the 23rd Annual Kid Fish hosted by the KNES 99.1 at Lake Limestone on Saturday, July 12. There were a total of 395 kids that pre-registered for the event.
The Kosse City Council dealt with property purchases and sales at their meeting on Tuesday, July 8, including the final sale of the old gas station at 507 S Mignonette St.
The following indictments were handed down June 18, by a Limestone County Grand Jury. Those listed are not guilty unless and until a court finds otherwise. An indictment means there is enough evidence to warrant a trial.
