GISD votes to bring unsuccessful remote learners back to campus

As public schools statewide continue making efforts to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic safely and efficiently, many students have chosen to learn remotely from home, but some are struggling to succeed in this format. In their regular meeting on Monday, November 16, Groesbeck board members discussed an opportunity created by The Texas Education Agency (TEA), which grants school districts the authority to require select remote learning students (those who are making a 70 or below AND/OR have three or more unexcused absences) to return to in-person instruction. “This would not do away with remote instruction,”
