COVID Concerns in Churches and Beyond
The COVID-19 pandemic has dominated news feeds on a world-wide scale for the majority of 2020, and has impacted many aspects of daily life across the nation, from social interaction to business operations in big cities and small towns, and everywhere in between. Churches and places of worship have not been spared from the difficulty of dealing with this virus, and leaders are feeling the pressure to provide guidance and safety for their flocks now more than ever. As one pastor so aptly said, “we as shepherds are supposed to protect our sheep, not to infect our sheep.”
BBB shares tips for college students on avoiding fraud
College students are returning to campus for the start of the semester, and with confusion surrounding new COVID-19 procedures, they may not be thinking about protecting their identities. Students are becoming more susceptible to fraud, which means educating children and young adults on financial literacy is more important than ever.
Journal building under renovation, office still open to the public
As many may have seen over the last week, the home of the Groesbeck Journal, one of the few iconic two-story brick buildings in downtown Groesbeck is getting a fresher look. The building is currently undergoing some major repairs and renovations to help preserve its longtime structure and stability. The work will be taking place over the next weeks, but the Journal office is STILL OPEN to the public. While working there is caution tape being used as a safety measure. Feel free to continue to stop by the Journal Monday-Friday 8 am - 5 pm.
Grand Jury Indictments
The following indictments were handed down by the Limestone County Grand Jury on July. 22. Those listed are not guilty unless and until a court finds otherwise. An indictment simply means there is enough evidence to warrant a trial.
