Keeping Tradition

Keeping Tradition

Long ago, a young lady in town by the name of Louise Oneal use to gather the Kosse news out of the little wooden box for the Groesbeck Journal that you see in the picture; prior to her, it was Pete Smith. Louise was the mother to Jimmy, Tommy, Joyce, and Carol Oneal. An original box has been located in the fire station, and placed inside the city office; our newest replica is inside “Branded Market”. Trying to keep tradition going and old fashion newspapers, we encourage our Kosse residents to submit some positive Kosse news for all to share. Although Louise and Pete are long gone; hopefully the tradition of sharing news among citizens and friends is not. Thank You Louise for all that you did!

Kosse Yard of the Month

Kosse Yard of the Month

The yard of the month in Kosse belongs to Wayne & Robin Rogers. Robin is a retired Nurse Practioner; retired from the Navy, Wayne is also retired Navy as a Master Electrician. They moved from Harlingen and chose Kosse because it was a friendly place, she mentioned people at the Kosse Café were very courteous to them when they were searching. They have two kids and three grandkids. Her favorite part of the yard is her rose beds. The Roger’s yard is full of veggie gardens, hummingbirds, flower beds, and chickens.
