Do you remember the story of Robinson Crusoe? He was stranded on a desert island and forced to fend for himself to survive. It was written by Daniel Defoe and first published in 1719, and is still in print.
Our society is among the best that there is on earth. We have built a country that we can be proud of. While we are not perfect, we do have compassion for others who come here out of desperation. While I understand our shortcomings on immigration and our laws, I do believe we are a melting pot that most have contributed to. In my reasoning, I hear how bad the United States has become, coming out of the mouths of illegal immigrants and I wonder to myself if we are so bad why do you risk death to get here and why isn’t there a mass exodus of people who claim to hate this country, like the people in states that are continuously experiencing a rise in crime and a bad economy?
