Receive or Accept

A vast number of individuals that heard Jesus speak and were personal witnesses of his miracles only received him and not accepted him. We can receive a person regardless of what country they may come from as a formal custom or curtsey without accepting what they represent. We may have some people that we see more often than others, yet we may not accept what they say or believe regarding spiritual matters. Most people have accepted Jesus into their family and attend church on a regular basis. They may even read the bible and demonstrate qualities of a Christian. They may have said a prayer and continued saying the same prayer repeatedly every day. They might be members of a church and currently feel everything spiritual in their life is doing great, yet they have never accepted Jesus as personal savior. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life.” This means only Jesus can redeem a soul from eternity in hell and give eternal life in heave. If someone ask you today if you are going to heaven, what would you say? Could it be, “You attend church, pray, read your bible” yet never have ask Jesus into your heart as your savior?
