Nelson Washington's name is deeply woven into the fabric of Limestone County's history, his life marked by an unwavering commitment to education and community service.
Elwood Enge was born on Aug. 12, 1914. He graduated from Blackshear in 1934.
On April 29, 1882, Edmond Ingram and Matt Chatman deeded the one-acre property and schoolhouse to Limestone County for use "for said colored school community for school purposes."
