LPC Fall Festival

A few hundred people attended Living Proof Church’s annual Fall Festival on the afternoon of Saturday, Nov. 1, despite some intermittent sprinkling of rain. A variety of fun activities were set up for children inside and outside the facility, including pumpkin and candy cane cornhole, ring toss, bounce houses, face painting, pumpkin decorating, train rides, and more in the spirit of the season.

To Comfort Us

God has made a promise that he will comfort all that trust in him. “For the Lord shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody” (Isa. 51:3). “Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God” ( 2 Cor. 1:4). The word comfort means, “to speak, hence persuasion; persuasive discourse.” If you expect or experience the benefit of God’s compassions to yourselves, be compassionate one to another. We must care for others in love and kindness but not be busybodies in other men’s matters. Our negative attitudes keep us from the comfort of God. Our anger and divisive words keep us from the comfort of God. Neither inward nor outward peace and love can be enjoyed, without lowliness of our mind. It is vital that we have personal experience of God’s comfort before we can pass it on to others. Maybe this is why many who read this are not serving God in a church. The comfort of God produces the fellowship with other Christians and not division. When is the last time you received comfort from God? When is the last time you passed on to another person the comfort of God? When is the last time you attended a church service?
