I want to share with your readers a conversation that turned into one of those Halloween stories you are asking for. I’ll try my best to tell it in as few words as possible.
The Groesbeck Study Club began its 2025–2026 season with a spirited reassembly meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at the Groesbeck Woman’s Club. President Kay Alston called the meeting to order at 6 p.m., welcoming members back for another year of service and fellowship.
Marva George Franklin Anglin was born in Houston County and raised in the rural East Texas community of Tadmor where she was educated in the Kennard Colored School. After high school, she earned a Bachelor’s degree from Texas College and a Master’s degree from Prairie View College.
