Janis Manning Frost of Mexia passed away in her home just in time to celebrate her 96th birthday in heaven. She and her twin sister, Jerry, were born in Currie on July 15, 1929, to James Roy Manning and Effie Hyden Manning. The family moved to Richland where she graduated high school at the top of her class. After World War II, she married Daniel Preston Frost on Dec. 14, 1946, at her parents’ home in Mexia. She and Pep resided at Pisgah Ridge then moved to Mexia in 1954. After Pep’s death in 1989, she remarried 3 years later to Jay Andrews of Sargent, and they resided in Mexia. Jay passed in 2009. Janis loved her large family and all the wonderful holiday and Christmas gatherings at her home. She was a beautiful Christian lady inside and out and an excellent cook, the queen of fudge. Janis was a member of the Northcrest Church of Christ.
