Shepherds Sayings

Jesus said a foolish person was one who heard the Word of God and did not obey, but a wise person both heard and obeyed His words. (Matt 7:24-27) Notice, that Jesus said it was important to hear Him but much more to do what He said. Think about it! The “Good Samaritan” was good because he saw someone in need and helped him. “The Rich Young Ruler” missed heaven not because he was bad but because he failed to do what Jesus said. It seems the world is full of people who never cause any trouble. They do not steal, and they never throw their trash on the roadways. Nor do they argue or criticized and yet getting them to do anything is nearly impossible. One such person was laid off from his job and asked for a letter of recommendation. His boss wrote a note that read, “Dear Sir, if you can get John Doe to work for you, you will be extremely fortunate.”

Shepherds Sayings

Jesus accepted and cared about every person He met. He made the thief, the harlot, the religious, the rich and the poor all feel welcome. Matthew records Jesus saying, “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matt. 11:28) The invitation was to all who were tired and stressed out by hardship. He bid those filled with despair of sin and the torment of life, to come to him.
