The designation of the former Washington High School location as a historic site has been years in the making, with efforts by several individuals to gather enough information for state approval.
The monthly Jamboree will be held at Oletha Saturday night, December 10th with music starting at 6 p.m. with John Allred Band, guest band will be Keith Woodley Bluegrass Band, featuring the Seale Boys from Seale at 7 p.m. and closing out the night will be The Baldwin Band of Seale.
Eighteen Seniors, Janice Bilbrey site manager, Ann Brown, Sammy Cooper, Elizabeth Neason, Jo Ann Archer, Lorene Stembridge and her guest, Lisa Gray, Earl Mask, Doris Lemley, James Lenamond, Gayla Lind, Snuffy Bennett, Alma McCurry, Roger and Sharon Watson, Glinda Bertrand, Wayne Sharp and myself. We also had a guest, Teresa Walsmith, Licensed Insurance broker with Tepe Group Insurance in Waco. Teresa was here to explain medicare and insurance changes coming in 2023 and was very helpful in answering questions that were asked of her.
