School is out, but that won’t stop patrons of Groesbeck’s Maffett Public Library from turning the pages of books during the summer break.
Robin York, Ashburn Hanna American Legion Post 288 second vice commander, worked as a logistics specialist, in water purification, dispatch and was a switchboard operator in the Army for 21 years. She has been in Groesbeck for five years.
Kosse Homecoming Weekend is June 10-11, 2022. This is Kosse’s biggest event of the year. Visit KosseTexas.com/ homecoming for details on all of the events. Homecoming proceeds are the primary annual support these non-profit organizations: Kosse Community Center, Kosse Volunteer Fire Dept, and the Kosse Heritage Society.
Thornton would love for you to show off your pie baking skills. Get out your pie recipes and get to baking. The pie contest will take place on June 18th, and will be held at the Mary Helen Nance Community Center. Doors will open at 7:30 am and close at 8 am. Winners will be announced during the homecoming luncheon at the center.
