A volunteer from ‘The Community in School, Central Texas’ helped to salt the watermelon of a young boy during the Groesbeck National Night Out event on Tuesday, August 2 at Groesbeck City Park.
The West Lake Limestone Volunteer Fire Department isn’t necessarily seeing an increase in calls of fires, but they are seeing worse fires, Warren Miller, assistant chief at West Lake Limestone VFD said.
This fall, visitors and residents of Lake Limestone will begin to see construction work take shape on the east side of the Sterling C. Robertson Dam at Lake Limestone. Crews will be creating a construction ramp off the emergency spillway that will allow the assembly and launch of a work barge to transport and support a crane and, ultimately, five newly fabricated flood gates for the 44-year-old dam.
School is starting again soon! On Sunday, July 31 from 2 - 4 p.m., at the Kosse Community Center, members of your Kosse Lions Club will provide free vision screenings, free school supplies, and refreshments to area students who are screened.
