Thornton Homecoming is planned for June 18th and 19th. They will be having a great time in Thornton, with a CPRA and youth events rodeo each night and dancing under the stars on Saturday night, with Jonna Mae opening for Randy Brown. The parade and pie contest will be on Saturday, with the ex-students meeting at 1 p.m.
Thornton’s seniors are just so wonderful, they just keep coming back each week for our time together. Those attending last Thursday were Ann Brown, Sue and Woody Wood, Jo Ann Diamond, Snuffy Bennett, Elizabeth Neason, Fonetta Simmons, Earl Mask, Lorene Stembridge, Gayla Lind, Glenda Gambini, Ernestine Wilson Audd, and her niece, Karen Anderson, Doris Lemley, James Lenamond, Site Manager Janice Bilbrey and myself.
Kosse Homecoming celebrates its sesquicentennial this weekend, June 11 & 12 with two days of fun, food, and music as we celebrate Kosse’s 150th Birthday!
The Coolidge ISD Board of Trustees and superintendent recently honored two former board members for their tireless service and extensive years on the board. Dr. Ric Bennett served 45 years on the CISD board and Mrs. Treon Erwin served 30 years. The evening was filled with stories, and all present remembered all they did for the community and the children of Coolidge. “They are loved and will forever be missed,” Coolidge Superintendent Robert Lowry said.
Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service’s Healthy Lawns and Healthy Waters Program will host a residential rainwater harvesting and turf management training June 22 for residents of Collin, Fannin, Grayson and Hunt counties.
