In 2021, the CDC reported that approximately 1 in 44 children in the U.S. is diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and according to authors Ann Carr and Craig deSteiguer, autism affects over 75 million people. August 24, they will be participating in a book signing of their co-authored novel, Angel on the Porch, the first in a trilogy that focuses on the challenges of individuals on the autism spectrum learning to communicate with an outside world that is illequipped to understand their struggles. The event will be at Springfield Hall from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and is sponsored by the Massey Foundation and open to the public.
