She played tennis, volleyball, and basketball, was a member of the band, active in the Student Council, and was also a GHS cheerleader. During her time as a student, Lisa was awarded Most Oustanding Teenager of America, most attractive, was a class favorite, and also served as an editor of the TAOG. In the fall of her senior year, Lisa was crowned as the GHS Football Sweetheart.
The special honor class for homecoming this year is the Groesbeck High School Class of 1973. The class will receive their 50-year diplomas following the homecoming lunch and will also be honored during pregame ceremonies on Friday and in the parade on Saturday.
On Friday, Sept. 15 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. a homecoming reception for Homecoming Parade Marshal Tom Hawkins will be held at the Groesbeck Journal, 115 N. Ellis, Groesbeck. Come enjoy refreshments and visit with Mr. Hawkins. Tours of the old Linotypes and the press will be available during this time.
Living Proof Church’s 8th annual 9/11 remembrance service will take place on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 11 a.m. with a special guest, World Trade Center Survivor Stanley Praimnath.
