CORRECTION:

In last week’s “Meet the Candidates: Limestone County” article, County Clerk Candidate Delores Saling’s name was spelled incorrectly, and two details were transcribed in error. The quote and name spelling have been corrected, to read as follows: Challenger Delores Saling: “As you may know, the County Clerk’s office is the record keeper for the county; it’s a very important job and one that should be taken seriously. This office records, files, issues, protects and preserves all documents required to be filed with the county, and believe me, there are a lot. I know this because for nearly 17 years, I was Deputy Clerk in the Limestone County Clerk’s Office from April 2007 to December of 2023. My main responsibility was handling vital statistical records: birth, death, and marriage. I worked closely with hospitals, funeral directors and their staffs, JPs, the state, and of course the people of Limestone County and surrounding counties. I have received several 5-star awards for superior performance and dedication to the public. Knowing how to treat people, talk with people, and work with people is an important part of being a leader in an office. The County Clerk’s office deserves a good leader, not just for the public, but for the employees of this office as well.”
