Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding

These three words can change for the good or destroy a life. Humanity has by its very nature sought wisdom at the harm of others. The source of knowledge determines the understanding which builds the wisdom. The Bible says, “For the Lord giveth wisdom and: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.” Individuals that continue saying evil things about others delight in doing harm to them. Love and hate can flow from the same mouth. Where can we find help for talking love and not hate? “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord and depart from evil.” Proverbs 3:5-8 Listen as others speak and determine if they are speaking from a heart changed by God or a heart that has been made hard through the paths of others in this world. When you talk with others in your family, at work, at the grocery store, or any other place what will they hear from you mouth? Hate or love. What is your true source of wisdom, knowledge and understanding?

Letters to the Editor

A Facebook post circulating locally has raised concerns after images appeared to show a white pickup truck driving through a roadside ditch in order to strike and flatten a political campaign sign. The post stated: “I thought we were all adults here, but I guess I was mistaken. If a big part of your campaign trail involves getting in your truck and running over your opponent’s campaign signs, you should reevaluate your campaign platform.”] The post also encouraged support for Jerry Staggs for County Commissioner Precinct 4, adding, “We will replace the sign.”
