National Hospital Week, observed May 10 – 16, is a nationwide celebration recognizing the vital contributions of hospitals, health systems, and the millions of healthcare professionals who keep our communities healthy. Established by the American Hospital Association (AHA) more than a century ago in 1921, the observance highlights the essential role hospitals play in public health and community well‑being.

Alzheimer’s Awareness Event Planned in Memory of Blossom Orum Williams
Blossom Orum Williams, an educator and community leader known for her service to Groesbeck ISD, local Chamber of Commerce and Head Branch Baptist Church, died this week at 91 years old. Survived by two of her children and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Williams’ family is continuing “Blossom’s Hope” of educating people about the impact of Alzheimer’s in the community with May 17 event at Lone Star Missionary Baptist Church, 504 S. Leon Street, Groesbeck, from 2 to 3 p.m.
