From all accounts, Groesbeck’s First Annual Heritage Festival was an overall success.

In Genesis, chapter 19, there is the story of a man named Lot who lived in a city called Sodom. We do not know exactly how long Lot lived in Sodom before an angel brought him a message from God. The message was, “Get your family out of here, because we are going to destroy this place.” (Gen. 19:12-14) So Lot told his family members, “God said for us to get out of this place, because He is going to destroy the city and all who remained in it.” But his sons-in-law thought he was joking.
The Texas Legislature sent a $248 billion two-year state budget to Gov. Greg Abbott after the House approved the measure last Thursday.
Yours truly hopes to see one and all at the first annual Groesbeck Heritage Festival this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
We have been having great attendance for the past several weeks and Thursday was no different with 22 coming for lunch, fellowship and bingo. Those present were Lorene Stembridge, Donna Lloyd, Elizabeth Neason, Sue and Woody Wood, Earl Mask, Fonetta Simmons, Snuffy Bennett, Neennah German, Gayla Lind, Roger and Linda Watson, Glenda Gambini, JoAnn Diamond, Alma McCurry, James Lenamond, Doris Lemley, Elle and Hand Stanisczewski, Earnestine Audd, Janice Bilbrey, site mgr.; and myself. Failed to get news in last week but we had 25 that day and it was different in that there was a gas leak in front of the church and as we began to gather we got the announcement to evacuate the premises. Therefore we loaded everything up and took food, etc. to the Thornton Civic Center. We appreciate the use of building for our time there and was back to church for lunch Thursday.
