Shepherds Sayings

Christ’s parable of the laborers in the vineyard told in Matthew 20:1-16 answers a question that most believers at some time would like to ask: “If I work for Christ, what’s in it for me?” Sooner or later adversity hits every Christian who has committed his life to the Lord. We look about us and see others who are not nearly so committed to the Lord who do not seem to have these problems. We want to ask, “Lord, how come? We have left everything to follow you. Why aren’t there some added benefits for us?”

Attention is called to the stories related to the Heritage Festival which will be coming up on May 28, 29, 30. Some excellent stories related to upcoming Heritage Festival activities appeared in last week’s Journal. The Journal has also been carrying some very informative stories related to Groesbeck and Limestone County history.

Shepherds Sayings

The Apostle Paul writing to the church at Philippi said, “Brothers I am not perfect , but one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead. I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 3:14-15)
