Colter Copeland fired a nohitter and struck out 16 to lead Groesbeck to a 5-0 victory over Teague in its District 20-3A baseball opener at Groesbeck on Tuesday, March 9. The only base runners he allowed got on via walks.

Coach Lisa O’Kelley and her Lady Goats fell to the Little River Academy Bumblebees 62-47 in the Bi-District Championship on Friday night at Hearne High School. The game was originally scheduled for Thursday night at Robinson High School, but was postponed due to inclement weather conditions.
Groesbeck had a busy week this past week as they played three games. The Goats fell to Fairfield and Teague and defeated Elkhart. The Goats were scheduled to take on the Crockett Bulldogs on Monday at 3 pm, pending weather conditions to wrap-up their season.
Two Groesbeck football players are on the ballot for the Texas Sports Writers Association’s Class 3A football all-state team.
